Look Ok... Feel Crap?

Sam

I probably started developing depression when I was 23, after my engagement ended.  I had also moved to another city and found myself in a job where the staff were very critical and I had very few friends. I later developed a severe viral infection that left me feeling ill and exhausted all the time. My depression became more severe and I had periods of “blackness”.  I began antidepressant treatment and had some psychotherapy, focusing mostly on CBT.  When I heard of the Living Life to the Full course I thought it would be very helpful for me as it focused again on CBT; I had stopped carrying out CBT and thought this might get me started again.  It was also in a group setting and I thought it would be good to bounce ideas off each other. I turned up to the course every week and used the work book between each week.  I found the CD on relaxation useful and now have it on my iPod so I can listen to it any where.  We were also given a DVD on the course material that showed us different ways of thinking and putting solutions to problems into practice. I found the course to be very helpful. I still use the CD, DVD and reread sections of the work book when feel my negative thoughts are occupying my mind more and more.
